Hey George, thanks for the heatsink and paste! It solved ALL of the problems. Turned out that when Woody and I opened up the old heatsink...there was paste residue (well yeah of course...but it was on dried up) and dust on the chip. So Woody and I got it all working again....hooray a working computer!
And Hooray for Livejournal updates!
More coming soon.
I had a dentist appointment today. And it went well. No more teeth issues! It was just routine cleaning.
Berfore I left though, I set up an appointment for some sort of veneer
for my fractured front tooth (it's been this way since....I was 7?).
You might have noticed it when I smile. Ok it's REALLY easy to notice,
and I guess I've been self-conscience of it ever since I was little.
Has anyone honestly seen me smile in a picture with my teeth showing?
Maybe it's time for a change. Just maybe.
I went to institute. And maybe I just don't pay attention normally. Or
maybe it was that pool party I went to...but sheesh...there's like
3 girls that are after me. And I don't know how to say hey, I can only date one of yas!
Edit: I don't really know if I actually want to date one of them.
We're all pretty much sick here at my house, and with different symptoms oddly enough.
I've got this odd chest pain still. Not to mention it feels like there's still stuck in the back of my throat that hasn't gone down. Aaaand to top it all off my mouth gets dry pretty fast.
And because you haven't heard enough about me talking about college. I'm late registering. But I'm taking off most of Wednesday to register. So no getting out of it this time! I'm just wondering how this will all work out.....
I did some house-sitting last week from Wednesday to Sunday.
- Watched the dog, fed her, let her out for "ahem" break time.
- Watered the plants outside.
- Refilled the bird feed.
- Took the trash out.
- Fed the fishies.....
Well I came back Monday to check on everything before I left for good. So I went and fed the fishies one last time....only to find the fish in the study NOT MOVING when I found it. I tried tapping the glass. I mean, usually these little guys flip around the bowl a bit when you do that. No avail. The fishy passed awawy.
Naturally, I freaked out. Left a note. Explained that I was sorry, also explained that I had no idea how to clean fish bowls. Finally explained that I might have fed the fish too much the first time I fed it.
Deadline for college is really soon. I've already pretty much decided on these things.
- San Antonio College
- At Northeast Campus (right by my house, at least to sign up.)
- Core classes, I can't take those music classes at night. MAYBE computer classes though.
Here's what's not decided.
- Online classes or no?
- Part time or full? I already have a full time job from 7-3:30 to battle with.
Maybe you friends can help me out here, any general advice is appreciated.
Piano lessons are great!
Oh and rediculous question time.
How do you feel about facial hair?
Today is my birthday. I turned 19!
Wooooo now I can do everything I could do yesterday :-)
But hey, it's still coool. Not like I would drink or smoke or gamble or anything.
I made my first long trip to Abilene on Friday night. I went solo (and as my coworker interjected today) and *gasp* without a cellphone.
Q: Why oh why would you ever purposely drive all the way to Abilene?
A: That's easy, my dad, as well as Ammon and his wife, live there.
Plus, it was father's day weekend! And hey, what better way to spend it then actually going to see your dad after what seems like almost half a year without seeing him?
So I drove. And drove some more. My only companion was my music (hint: never pick somber music on long car trips!). After a good 5 hours and a few little detours (gas, wrong turn-off) I was at my dad's apartment.
I, being exhausted, but happy to see Dad, talked for a while, diagnosed his computer problem (Dad you just have too many security programs for it to run smoothly! ;-)), and read a few sentences out of Neverending Story before I fell into blissful sleep.
Saturday morning, I woke up to the sound of my dad's cell phone going off. It was Ammon. We were invited to, and ate a yummy breakfast at his apartment. I'd never been there. It was definately a nice sized apartment for a married couple with no kids :-).
Anyway, dad and I drove to the church building to set up the sound and karoake at about 11 am. Sound set up was pretty easy, and we had plenty of help from the church members (including the karoake tests!). I believe we did a good 2 hours of singing different songs. I wish I could remember which ones I attempted to sing, but I don't.
After a very filling meal at a REAL Mexican restuarant, we headed back to the apartment and got ourselved a bit cleaned up, and headed back for the church dance.
I'll be honest, it was a blast. Because there weren't a whole lot of people, I met almost everyone. I also danced with different girls, y'know got my groove on (rriiiight) and generally just did my best white boy dancing. I also figured out that I generally have a preference for the more down-to-earth girls. Because they are awesome. Of course.
Singing was tons of fun too. I roped in a few guys to do a side-splitting rendition of Private Eyes by Hall and Oats, as well as singing some songs I usually sing, like Beatles stuff, Joy to the World, Brick, and I even convinced a girl to do a duet with me. We performed the only duet I actually know by heart. Summer Nights from Grease!
If Dad can remeber what else I sang, I'll let him post a comment about it.
Sunday I made better time coming back home to San Antonio. Only too about 3 hours and 45 minutes that time. Anyways, that's about it.
Oh, I just remembered! Haha...that girl at work was like "So when are we going to have that drink?" as I was walking out. I simply laughed a little and my supervisor Ruth jokingly told her "Oh, Diane, leave him alone." So that was bit of the day. Oh and kids, don't forget my birthday, please? :-)
I'll be 19 on the 27th!
This apartment reaks of nail polish!
Yet another mystery to be solved by master sleuth Aaron.
At least it wasn't as bad as work today! When I walked over to my building I detected the distinct aroma of tires and skunks! A construction crew was busy tearing up and grabbing the loose gravel where a new building is to be erected. How very rank.
Interesting thing happened Friday though. I'm about to leave work for the day, and I get stopped by an attractive female coworker in my division. Dialogue goes something like this:
Her: "Hey Aaron, do you want to go have a drink?"
Me (a bit surprised): "Err sure, as long as I can have something non-alchoholic." ;-)
Her: "Ohh if you're worried about the age thing, don't worry, it's my uncle's bar."
Me: "Oh wow, haha..it's not quite that. I've never had alchohol."
Her: "Really? Not even a taste?"
Her: "Would you care if someone slipped something in your drink?"
Me: "Haha, yeah I think I'd mind. But hey, I could go but I'd be drinking soda or something."
Her: "But I like to drink..."
Me: "And I'm also diabetic, but I appreciate the offer though."
Her: "Oh...I'm sorry Aaron, I hope didn't make you mad or anything."
Me: "No no, not at all."
Do I feel too bad about that? Not really. I understand why it wouldn't happen too. Social drinkers don't like to drink alone. And I'm diabetic. And mormon. AND LEFT HANDED. I guess I also thought it was crazy that a 30 year old had interest in me.
Saturday and Sunday were spent hanging out with George in Austin and watching movies. I saw River City Rumble! (the no-budget movie adaptation of River City Ransom made by true fans...starving college students!).
Anyway, as I found at work to my dismay... my insurance won't quite be as great as I once thought. No matter which plan I choose, I will still have to pay every 2 weeks! Argh! Oh well, I needs it all the same.
Everyone has seen Star Wars Ep 3 but me.
